A novel initiative titled “Naipunya Nidhi” was conceptualised during 2013-14. This programme is aimed at crafting new opportunities, improving the self-image and imparting employability skills to students, a sizeable number of who are from the disadvantaged socio-economic background. Naipunya Nidhi has various training programmes under its umbrella which are rich in content and are delivered using novel teaching tools like Communication Skill, Social Skill, STAR Programme through a novel method of using teaching tool like the EDUSAT. The main goal of this progromme is to achieve global standards and give exposure to the students of Government First Grade Colleges.


The Department of Collegiate Education has introduced Communication Skill for the First Year Degree Students. It aims at imparting English Communication Skill. Teaching conversational English and improving writing skills through intense training in forms and functions of the language and giving the students better prospects.


The Department of Collegiate Education has introduced Social Skill and Indian Culture for the Second Year Degree Course. This training helps the Students Develop Self-respect, Healthy relationship, Emotional intelligence, Goal setting and Time management, Leadership qualities and Create an awareness about Ethics and Values.
STAR (Standard Training & Assessment Reward) PROGRAMME :
The Government of India has recently launched a programme called The ‘STAR’ programme for the Students of Final Year Degree Course which aims at Employability skill, under the NSDC (National Skill Development Council) This scheme provides ‘Monetary Reward’ to students on successful completion of the programme & certification there after. The objective of this programme is to develop skills and boost employability & productivity of the youth by increasing the existing workforce. Through various knowledge skills like Technical Skill, Employability Skill, Professional Skill & Domain Skill it aims at transforming the lives of the youth to lead a quality life. The STAR Programme comprises of 120 hours of intense training.


Department of Collegiate Education has introduced EDUSAT Program in Government First Grade Colleges across Karnataka. Recorded and Live Education lecturers which are being telecasted regularly are very much useful. Specially sessions relating to Computer applications, English Communication skills are more beneficial to the students. It also provides all opportunity to students and faculty from colleges to interact with the live sessions by sending SMS to the dedicated mobile numbers.


The Library is a Store house of Knowledge. The College Library has been aptly named as “Knowledge Centre”. It provides good library facilities to the students who have good access to books. There are a good number of Reference books & Encyclopedias. In addition to it, the Library is equipped with Number of Periodicals, Journals, Magazines & Newspapers. Special privilege is given to SC/ST students by providing a whole set of books for their reference.
